Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, June Edith Jones, passed away on Dec. 6, 2016. She was born to the late Frederick and May Hancox Collins on Jan. 22, 1935, in Liverpool, England.
She met the love of her life, Jerald (Jud) D. Jones, when she was 17 and they married on Nov. 2, 1953. During their 46 years of marriage, June managed to care for six children while traveling around the world.
June loved reading and singing and would often sing around the house while doing chores. Her family would often be greeted with singing when they got up in the morning.
When June and Jud moved to St. George, Jud passed away after a very short period of time. She continued to live with her sister-in-law Genevieve Fillmore, who helped re-introduce her to the church and helped her join the church choir.
She is survived by her six children: Jeffrey (Marjorie) Nutter, Sheree (William) Reich, Debra Jones, Duane (Karen) Jones, Perry (Jeri) Jones, Paula Jones; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Heather, Hazel, and Arlene; and her brother Fred.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerald Jones, son Lonnie Jones, grandson Tracy Reich and sisters Olwyn and Sylvia.
We would like to thank all of her caretakers who have provided wonderful care for June for these last few months and for the support and kindness that they have shown her family.
Funeral services
- There will be a viewing Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, prior to services from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the St. George LDS East Stake Center, 449 S. 300 East, St. George.
- Funeral services will be held Monday, at 11 a.m. at the Stake Center.
- Interment will take place in the St. George City Cemetery.
