Durward Theron Terry (Duke to many) died March 1, 2023. Duke was born in Cedar City, Utah, Sept. 12, 1935, to Durward Terry and Ila Adair Terry. He married Janet Louise Pyle June 30, 1955, in the seminary building in St. George, Utah. On April 20, 1963, they were sealed in the St. George Temple.
Duke was raised in Enterprise and he attended primary and secondary grades there. He attended CSU and Dixie College and got an education in automotive technology which became his profession.
He liked hunting, boxing, baseball, camping, tinkering, taking things apart and putting them back together. He enjoyed taking trips with his family. Other places he lived besides Enterprise were St. George, Utah, and Las Vegas, Nevada.
Duke is survived by his wife Janet; children Kelly Terry (Theresa) and Michelle Ainscough; grandchildren Kyla Armstrong, Russell Terry, Crystal Brown, Scott Terry, Michael Terry, Mckenna Terry, Jesse Ainscough, Clinton Ainscough, Heather Munoz, Aubrey Ainscough; 29 great-grandchildren; and sister Colleen Randall and brother Larry Terry, both living in Enterprise.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister LaRee Gardner.
There will be a closed casket reception for public condolences on Saturday, March 11, 10-10:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 80 Center St., Enterprise, Utah.
The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m.
