Milo Ciril Knight, was born in Sigurd, Utah, March 16, 1920. He passed away on, Jan. 30, 2022, at the, Southern Utah Veterans Home, in Ivins, Utah. Milo’s parents were, Alma and Agnes Anderson Knight. Milo married, the love of his life, Madge Zufelt, on Aug. 24, 1939 in Utah.
Milo attended High School, in the Salina, Utah, School District, where he graduated. He married Madge Zufelt, in 1939, and shortly after, welcomed their first child together; daughter, Nancy, in 1940. They later welcomed children Pamella and Milo, Jr.
Milo had many careers in his life. He worked at a service station, for the railroad, and around 1944, joined the Army Air Core, (which later became separate military outfits, the army and the air force). Milo served in the Air Force, for 30 years. Milo and his family, were stationed in California, Middletown, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and The Alaska Territory, which later became a state, in 1959.
The family later transferred, to Savannah, Georgia, and then back to Pennsylvania, before his retirement from the services. After retiring, Milo was hired on, as the food service manager, at the University of Maryland. After his career in the food service industry, Milo decided to venture out on his own, being the entrepreneur that he was, and opened his first restaurant, Milo’s Pizza, which became wildly popular among college students.
Eventually, Milo and his wife, Madge, were ready to return to their home state, and found a house in, St. George, Utah, to finish their years out. Milo loved to garden, so he planted vegetables in his garden, while Madge planted watermelons and rose bushes.
Milo also loved to golf and spent many hours golfing with his buddies.
Milo took Madge on occasion, to visit his daughter, Nancy and family, in Alaska, by driving to Seattle, and then taking a ferry boat to Juneau. They would also drive to Georgia, to visit their daughter, Pamella and family, as well as their son, Milo Jr.
Milo and his Madge, never wasted time or became bored. They kept busy for sure.
Milo Ciril Knight, was proceeded in leaving this earth by his sweetheart, Madge and son, Milo Jr.
Surviving Milo are daughters, Nancy and husband Miles, Pamella, and their many grandchildren. Milo had, nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on, Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary, located at 110 S. Bluff Street, St. George, Utah 84770. Interment will take place in Saint George City Cemetery.
