Roger Condie

Condie, Roger Obit(December 31, 1944 – February 12, 2015)

Roger Grant Condie, age 70, passed away February 12, 2015, in St. George, Utah, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born December 31, 1944, in Cedar City, Utah, to Edmund Grant and Blanche Opal Gillespie Condie. He attended school in Cedar City and the family moved to Hurricane where he graduated from high school. He attended CSU (now SUU) where he was schooled in architecture. He married Vicky Campbell June 5, 1964, and they had four children: Marcy, Trever, Micole and Brett. The family moved to Las Vegas and Roger and Vicky later divorced.

On January 12, 1983, he married Julie Jean Jones in Las Vegas, Nevada and she had two children: Jake and Gena. Roger and Julie were sealed in the Mt. Timpanogos LDS Temple January 12, 2013.

He continued to work in the masonry and construction business and then for over twenty years as a Certified Building Official in Las Vegas.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served diligently in all his callings.

He is survived by his wife, Julie; his children, Marcy Hamrick, Trever Condie both of Las Vegas, Micole (Gregg) Tafoya of Logandale, Nevada, Jake Michael Waggoner of Las Vegas, Gena Rae (Vincent) Ebarb of Hermosa Beach, California; his mother, Blanche Opal Leavitt of St. George; sister, LaWana (Carmen) Lamola of Las Vegas, DeNise (Leon) Pettit of Hurricane, Monte (Caroline) Lewis of St. George; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father E. Grant; son Brett; stepmother, whom he dearly loved, Loraine Condie; and sister Margo Stratton.

Funeral Services

  • Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 11 a.m. in the LDS Chapel, 1222 E. Brigham Road, St. George.
  • Viewings will be Tuesday, Feb. 17 from 6-8 p.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary 110 S. Bluff Street, St. George and Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel.
  • Interment will be at the Tonaquint Cemetery.
