1936 — Sept. 17, 2017

Charles Donald Rivers, 81, passed away Sept. 17 in St. George, Utah. He was born in Apia, Samoa, to Charles Rivers and Anne Brighouse Rivers. He married his soulmate, Geraldine “Dini” Rasmussen, on  April 18, 1965.

Raised in Samoa and New Zealand before moving to Utah to attend Ogden High School and Brigham Young University, Don returned to the islands, living in Samoa, Hawaii and Guam.

Don worked for 26 years with Servco, ending his tenure as executive vice president when he retired early to take care of his parents in Lehi, Utah.

A desire to start a family business led Don to St. George, where E’OLA and Rivers Aviation was created. Over 13 years E’OLA grew into an international, multimillion-dollar business supporting thousands of families.

He is survived by wife Dini; three sons and their wives, Brent and Matilda, Ray and Annie, Todd and Brittney; 20 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Eileen Harding and Noue’ Wallwork. He is preceded in death by his son Shane, who was married to Lena.

The Rivers Family expresses their deep gratitude to Dr. Scott Barton along with the many doctors and nurses who professionally and respectfully provided care.
