June 19, 1930 — November 27, 2016
Barbara “grandma” passed away peacefully from natural causes early Sunday morning, Nov. 27, 2016. She was born June 19, 1930, to John Riggs Littlefield and Eva Barlow in Provo, Utah.
She loved to dance and see picture shows. She worked at the local movie theater as an usher. It was there she ushered her future sweetheart and best friend to his theater seat. It was love at first sight. They both knew immediately that each was “the one.” They were married on Aug. 5, 1948, and later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Aug. 19, 1955, and spent a wonderful 68 years together.
She served in many capacities in the LDS church and took serving others as a way to live. Many were touched by her love and kindness with the delivery of homemade treats and lemon, zucchini or Amish bread. She taught many by her caring and exemplary example. All who knew her loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister and two grandchildren. She is survived by one sister, Beth Littlefield (the late William) Nesbit, and one brother, Kenneth (Marlene) Littlefield, as well as her husband, Richard Kay Kendall; their children Cheryl (Rick) Adams of St. George, Utah, John (Arlene) Kendall of St. George, Utah, David (Paige) Kendall of St. Louis, Missouri, Susan (Dennis) Beebe of St. George, Utah; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
