October 8, 1943 – December 26, 2015
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Joseph Ross Christopher, 72, passed away Dec. 26, 2015.
He was born in Davenport, Iowa, Oct. 8, 1943, the son of Helen Winifred Kehoe and Peter August Joe. He started his sales career early in life selling peanuts and newspapers along the Mississippi River in Davenport, Iowa.
He spent many years in the car business, but his passion was volunteering and community involvement, serving on the Board of Directors for SUHBA, as Sunrise Rotary president, Chamber president, Elks trustee, American Cancer Society volunteer and Foundation for Students. He had a knack for making you feel like you were the most important person in the world.
Joe is survived by his wife, Debora; his daughters, Lisa Christopher of Bend, Oregon, Corrin (Jeff) Barton of Fort Morgan, Colorado, Pamela (Paul) Pacha of DeWitt, Iowa, Teresa Christopher of Ogden, Utah, and Debra (Patrick) Gendron of Mesquite, Nevada; sons, Brett Williams of St. George, Utah, Brock Williams of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Chase Williams of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandchildren, Alexxis, Colby, River, Adam, Gabrielle and Courtney; mother, Helen Christopher; and sisters, Patricia (Bud) Goodwin, Deborah (Stan) Foster and Jackie Christopher.
He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, William Christopher.
Funeral services
- Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, 11 a.m., at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, Utah.
- There will be a viewing held Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, 5–7 p.m.,
- There will also be a viewing Monday prior to services, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Mortuary.
- Interment will take place in the Tonaquint Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Spilsbury Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe’s name to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org. Friends and family are invited to sign Joe’s guest book online.
