Jan. 4, 1935-May 28, 2023

Barbara Stringham, 88, of Beryl, Utah, passed away peacefully at home on May 28, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was born on Jan. 4, 1935, in Cane Beds, Arizona, to Ellis Stock and Jenny Bushman. She married the love of her life Lyle Stringham on June 19, 1956.

Barbara had a love for all animals, and it was very normal to find a calf in the bathroom, chickens hatching under a light in the laundry room and lambs being bottle-fed in the living room. Barbara also had a love for sewing and quilting. Her quilts were a sight to behold and there was usually a quilt on a frame in her home. She enjoyed puzzles and her grandkids loved doing puzzles with her.

Barbara loved her children and grandchildren fiercely and played a huge part in their lives. She enjoyed cooking and taught them how to preserve all types of foods in jars to be stored for later. Barbara taught many members of her family everything from how to dress a deer properly to how to make peaches taste just right fresh out of a jar, and even how to cut fresh asparagus so it would grow back.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Lyle Stringham and her brothers Norman and Neal Stock.

She is survived by her brother Dwayne Stock; children Brenda (Rex) Buckner, Debra (Brandt) Adams, Bradley Lyle Stringham and Ronald Ellis Stringham; any grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 1, from 5-7 p.m., at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 South Bluff St., St. George, Utah.

Another visitation will be held on Friday, June 2, from 10-10:45 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Enterprise Main Street Chapel, 620 East Main St., Enterprise.

The funeral services will follow, starting at 11 a.m., at the same location. The interment will follow directly after services at Enterprise City Cemetery.

We would like to acknowledge the special care and services of Zion’s Way nurses and doctors, and everyone who helped care for and watch over our mom.

Arrangements are under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S Bluff St., St. George, 435-673-2454. Family and friends are invited to sign Barbara’s online guest book.
