Joy LaVoun Brewster passed away Feb. 3, 2022, surrounded by family. She was born Nov. 3 in Pocatello, Idaho, to Harold Rolo Bills and Frances Wellard Bills. Joy grew up in Downey, Idaho, and later moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where she met and married the love of her life Robert B. Brewster, Sr. on May 21, 1948. Together they created a beautiful life including their two children, Robert B. Brewster, Jr., and Debra J. Anderson. They enjoyed their time together traveling, boating, fishing and camping.
Joy was a beautiful soul, inside and out. She loved unconditionally, was caring, selfless, generous and hardworking. She worked for multiple companies as a bookkeeper, in which she took pride. She was an avid reader, enjoying books, newspapers and magazines. She loved clothes and shoes, always dressing to the nines.
Joy also spent countless hours volunteering at the local hospital, where she was described as cheerful, helpful and efficient.
She lived a rewarding, healthy life but longed the reunion with her sweet husband.
Joy leaves behind a family who will cherish their memories of her forever. She is survived by her dog Ginger, who she adored; her two children, Robert (Kathryn) Brewster and Debra Anderson; grandchildren, Jeffery (Marilu) Brewster, Jeremy (Amber) Brewster and Jason Brewster; great-grandchildren, Jessie, Justin, Jacob, Kylii (Jordan), Braxton, Valerie and Kaden; great-great-granddaughter, Navii; sister, Bonnie (Les) Knudsen; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, Harold and Frances; siblings, Alex, Harold Jr., Mable, Monna, Margie and Terry; and son-in-law, Tom Anderson.
At Joy’s request there will be no viewing or funeral. A graveside service will be held on Feb. 11, 2022, at 2 p.m. located at the Washington City Cemetery, located at 300 Park View Dr., Washington, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (givenow.lls.org).
